Late October Pow Shred!!!!!

OCT. POW SHRED 2010 from Jake McNair on Vimeo.

Tuesday October 27th was a great day. We heard there had been 10 or more inches fall at Targhee and the Pass on Monday the 26th and then overnight there was another 20 plus... That was more than enough reason for Carson Mcnair and I to venture over into the Teton Valley to splitboard up Grand Targhee for some early season turns. We skinned up to the top of Dreamcatcher and decided to head down CrazyHorse and ended up heading into CrazyHorse woods. Conditions were pretty epic on the way down and we felt breaking trail up the ridge to the top of Fred's had been worth it.
After returning home with tales of the conditions we had too many friends wanting to go the next morning I couldn't resist going again the next day. Jake Mcnair, Jedd Mumm, Jade Thomason, Shae Dana, and I woke up early, left Rexburg at 5am and headed to the Jackson Pass to ride 1st Turn. It was obvious the snow was gonna be good when we pulled into the parking lot at 6 or so and there were already several people out hiking. As the footage suggests there were face shots galore cuz the powder was so deep and light. It was the sickest powder day in October that I've had in recent memory. We were stoked to remember too that we'd had sick pow days on the pass only 5 and a half months earlier on May 7th and 8th... Even then it's been too long.
